Thousands Join Khmer Flag Parade in Pursat to Show Unity and Defend National Sovereignty

Pursat Province – August 3, 2025: Thousands of people gathered in Pursat Province for a large-scale Khmer flag parade under the theme “People of Pursat Province Together to Protect the Motherland.” The event brought together provincial leaders, monks, civil servants, citizens, and youth in a powerful display of national unity and patriotism.

The 10-kilometer parade began at the Pursat Provincial Stadium, winding through the streets of Pursat City and along National Road No. 5, before ending at Koh Sampov Meas Cultural Village.

Speaking at the event, Pursat Governor Mr. Khoy Rida said the parade aimed to:

 1. Reinforce the spirit of unity and determination among the people of Pursat to preserve peace;

 2. Honor the courage and sacrifices of the Cambodian armed forces;

 3. Express gratitude and congratulations to Prime Minister Hun Manet for successfully negotiating a ceasefire; and

 4. Thank U.S. President Donald Trump for his role in supporting peace efforts.

Participants said the parade served as a clear message to the international community: Cambodia seeks peace, not war. They stressed that Cambodia has not invaded any neighboring country and is simply defending its territory from foreign aggression.

Many expressed concern for Cambodian troops currently detained by Thailand, praying for their safe return. Citizens also voiced strong support for the Royal Government of Cambodia in protecting the nation’s sovereignty and upholding international law.

They emphasized that Cambodians stand united—under one King, one government, and one army. In contrast to divisions seen elsewhere, such as political color factions, the Cambodian people are bound by a shared national spirit and unity. That unity, they said, is the strength that no enemy can break.
